Silent Prayer in the nave

“In silence, God ceases to come an object and becomes an experience.” - Thomas Merton

Prayer begins sometimes with words and sometimes with quiet. Join other St. Josephites to pray together in silence. “In silence, God ceases to come an object and becomes an experience.” - Thomas Merton

When? The first and third Friday of every month, beginning September 5.

Where? The nave of St. Joe’s. (“Nave” is the technical church term for the main part of a chruch building, where the congregation sits. It’s from the Latin for ship - as the church is a ship that holds us aloft and bears us home!) we’ll begin at noon; please arrive at 5 or 10 minutes till, so that you can be seated and ready to enter into quiet at noon. And don’t worry if you’ve never kept silence before. Curiosity, even anxiety, are properly part of the experience. Questions? Email Lauren Norton.
