St. Joe’s is a small and vibrant community, and we invite everyone to be involved in our common life— even if you’re new.

St. Joseph’s welcomes broad participation in our liturgy. This is open to all — don't worry if you've never done it before, or are new to our community! If you’re interested in reading Scripture, leading prayers, serving Communion, ushering, or running the Sunday morning sound system — email Hannah Flack, Parish Administrator

In addition to Sunday worship, we hold prayer services Wednesday evening and every weekday morning. To learn more, email Fr. Lachlan.

Our primary forms of community engagement are our wonderful breakfast ministry, our work with a local women’s prison, and our work with Durham CAN. Participation from any and all is always welcome. We serve breakfast every weekday from 7 to 9. If you are interested in helping to serve breakfast, or in baking casseroles for breakfast, email Fr. Lachlan.

If you are interested in learning more about our work at the prison, email Vicar Lauren.

To join our work with Durham CAN, which connects with and organizes the communities of Durham for the public good, email Doug Merrill.

If you’re interested in children’s chapel, or connecting in some other way with the children of St. Joe’s, email Deacon Kelly.

We have numerous other opportunities to get involved: we have committees for finance, building/grounds, and more. If you are interested in committee service, email the Senior Warden, James Chappel.

If you are a young adult (under 39-ish), and want to join our “St Joe’s youth” what’s app, email Fr. Lachlan.

Finally, if you’re interested in delving into your prayer life, your spiritual life, email Vicar Lauren.
