Sunday morning Coffee Hour set-up responsibilities

 Prior to worship

  • Set up coffee maker — children’s minister or other adult partner will turn it on as they begin children’s chapel.

  • Make one small pot of coffee (½ of coffee for 12 cups using the carafe measurements).

  • Set up drink dispenser with water.

  • Check the dishwasher if you can’t find something. It is possible that nobody emptied it of the clean dishes from the last use.

  • Prepare baked goods onto plates (cut doughnuts in half).

  • If rain is forecast, check in with the vicar or other staff person by 9:45 AM.  If raining, coffee hour will be moved into the Parish House.

During worship

  • Exit after receiving the Eucharist in order to set up beverages and food at the picnic tables (or inside, weather depending).

  • We use the large metal tray (which should be either in the kitchen or on one of the tables in the main room of the Parish house) to carry out the following (adjusted based on attendance):

    • Mugs (15-20) in the cupboard to the right of the sink or in the main room of the Parish house on a shelf.

    • Cups for water (15-20) in aforementioned cupboard.

    • Napkins or dish cloth.

    • Milk, sugar, artificial sweetener, and spoons (pull out a round sleeve of spoons from the cutlery rack).

    • Water carafe and glasses.

    • Set out trash can and bus bin.

After worship

  • Gather used dishes, unconsumed food, and any other objects used for serving and return them to the kitchen.

  • You can compost some things, ex: coffee grounds.

  • Load and run the dishwasher with mugs, cups, and everything else we’ve managed to use. Dishwasher detergent (automatic only) is under the sink.

  • Wipe down the countertops and make sure the sink is clear.

  • Leaving cleaned dishes in the drying rack is just fine!

  • Take trash, recycling, and compost.
